Privacy Policy
Cairn is built on a simple rule: nothing leaves your phone unless a system service from Apple needs to process it.
What we collect
Cairn does not run a backend, does not create accounts, and does not collect data on our servers.
The app stores the following data on your device only:
- Apps you choose to protect, stored through Apple's Family Controls framework as opaque tokens.
- Daily and lifetime puzzle solve counts.
- Reclaimed-minute totals and streak data.
- Settings such as sound, haptics, stone style, unlock duration, and protection schedule.
- Weekly reflection text saved in the in-app journal.
- Purchase status synced through StoreKit.
- Notification permission state for local reminders.
What we share
We do not sell, rent, share, or transmit your Cairn data. Cairn does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, crash reporters, marketing trackers, or social login.
Apple services
Apple may process data when you use system features required by the app:
- App Store purchases and subscriptions are handled by StoreKit and your Apple ID.
- Family Controls and Screen Time authorization are handled by iOS.
- Local notifications are scheduled on your device.
Apple's privacy policy is available at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Data retention
On-device Cairn data stays on your device until you delete the app or use the in-app reset control. Uninstalling Cairn removes its local app data according to iOS behavior.
Children
Cairn is intended for users 13 and older. It is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If Cairn's data practices change, this policy will be updated. Material changes may require an in-app notice or acceptance.
